Regenera Activa – Hair Loss Treatment in Singapore

So you may have noticed some hair thinning, or your hairline appears to be receding. What is your next step?

Hair Transplant Surgery (FUE hair transplant) is usually the most sought after solution.

However, there are some disadvantages to this surgery:

  • Significant downtime
  • Results often vary, some have successful procedures, while others do not.
  • Recovery is a lengthy process
  • Expensive
  • There is a limited number of times you can do in your lifetime

You may also have heard of Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy, a procedure that involves injecting your own blood that has been processed into your scalp. However, some patients find the possible side effects a bit off-putting (infection, nerve damage, etc).

You might want to consider Regenera Activa. Most patients experience minimal downtime with this non-surgical micro-graft treatment.

What is Regenera Activa and how does it work?

Regenera Activa is a hair loss treatment that uses autologous micrografts; meaning the grafts are taken from your own body. These 2.5mm wide grafts are harvested from the back of your scalp. They are then saturated with growth factors and progenitor cells that stimulate healthy hair growth i.e., thicker and longer hair.

A device then creates micrografts by further dividing the harvested portions into smaller, absorbable sections. These micrografts are combined into a solution and administered to the affected areas. The entire procedure takes about 45 minutes to complete and is usually relatively painless.

The concept behind Regenera Activa is that these grafts are loaded with healthy cells that can revitalize inactive hair follicles.

This treatment reverses hair follicle shrinkage that is caused by genetics and DHT-testosterone.

What triggers androgenetic alopecia?

Androgenetic alopecia is another name for genetic hair loss. It causes hair loss in both women and men. Other factors which trigger hair loss include;

  • Hormonal changes
  • Medications
  • Ethnicity
  • Hereditary
  • Stress levels

The loss of 100-150 hairs each day is quite normal, so if you experience some light shedding, there is no need to worry.

Male Pattern Hair Loss

Male pattern hair loss is caused by genetics and Dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT damages your hair follicles causing thinning, declining hair growth, and lastly the hair loss.

If you have a family history of hair loss, there is a high likelihood that you may also struggle with androgenetic alopecia. Early detection means that you can get preventative medical care sooner rather than later. It prevents the progression of the condition.

What do I need to know about the hair cycle?

Anagen Stage (active stage)

This happens to 85% of your hair and it lasts for 3 to 6 years.

Catagen Stage

This is when the growth stage stops (1 to 5% and this usually last approximately 3 weeks)

Telogen Stage

This is the stage right before your hair sheds (this is a 4-month process, and it happens to about 10% of your hair).

How long does Regenera Activa take to work?

According to reviews and clinical studies conducted, patients experience increased scalp coverage, hair counts, and hair density after Regenera Activa hair loss treatment. Regenera Activa also improves hair growth and thickness in about 1 year.

Results are further enhanced if Regenera Activa is combined with other hair loss treatments.

Am I a good candidate for Regenera Activa?

Both men and women can sign up for Regenera Activa treatments. If you are not comfortable with having surgery, you might want to consider looking into the procedure.

If you do not require a total hair transplant and your hair loss is only local, Regenera Activa may be for you.

Who is not a suitable candidate for Regenera Activa?

If you have rapid hair shedding (telogen effluvium), Regenera Active may not be your best option. It works best if you have pre-existing hairs in the area that you want to treat. If the area is totally bald or there is significant hair loss, the treatment will not deliver the results that you are looking for.

Can I do Regenera Activa and Hair Transplant together?

Yes, Regenera Activa can further improve the hair transplant recipient area.

Can other Hair Treatments and Regenera Activa be combined for maximum results?

Absolutely, you can use Regenera Activa with anti-hair loss shampoos, hair growth supplements, and low-level laser light therapy (LLLT).

Patients should continue taking their DHT-blockers (finasteride) after they have received their Regenera Activa hair loss treatment.

What precautions should I take after my treatment?

You should refrain from exercise for a week after the treatment. You should also not wash your hair or scalp until 24 hours after the procedure.

When can I start?

You can start this hair loss treatment as soon as you notice hair thinning and hair loss. The sooner you start treatment, the more likely it is that you will achieve the results that you are looking for. Early treatment always increases the likelihood of success.

Regenera Activa is a holistic approach to hair loss that when combined with medication and supplements can work effectively well.
